I don't think I have shown people how my new workplace looks like...

This is just a view from my desk..the partitions are really high

It is not that big !! However, the place I was assigned to sit and lurk around from 8.30-6.00 every weekday is cozy ...though not that personal. Everyone has to pass by my place in order to get to the front door. So a lot of them must have dropped tonnes of BULU KAKI around my place...ish ish ish..

All I want to say is .... I MISS MY BLOG SOOOO SOOO MUCH !!!

It has been more than a week or two since I last landed my own blog with a new post.
I have my very own reasons...I list down aaaa....

1. I have been very very busy .....well, I changed my JOB...from IBM to Ann Joo Resources Bhd !! From sales dept to procurement dept.Everyday, I have to read read and read articles to get myself updated with the industry which Ann Joo is in, that is STEEL...


2. This is one of the most drastic reason!! There is no internet connection in my house !!
I was told that it will take around a month to get a new streamyx line...n YES I have waited for more than a month..but I don't get any news yet...Even now, I am sitting like a homeless kid in Starbucks with my sis( because I cannot find any socket at Old Town Kopitiam / Pappa Rich / McDonalds) poking my laptop every now n then as my sis has to use it too.... Im in Starbucks does not mean that I am RICH...just that I have NO CHOICE !!

3. I am even busy with housechores, Japanese class homeworks, go out with frenz whom I have
not met for some time...etc ...

4. I was also busy with IBM's work the week before ...I thought I could have a good rest the day before I start afresh in Ann Joo. However, my ex-boss ( IBM) was in dire need for assistance which I am the only person in Malaysia who knows how to use the bloody website. No choice-loh...help out a bit loh...I am not that cold-hearted one ma...of course she also offered me extra pay for the extra day I contributed my services in IBM...

Well, these are the reasons why I did not even have the time to drop by my beloved BLOG. SOBS !!!

I have to leave dy ...getting late and I need my sleep !! If not, I will be lying on my workdesk like a dead fish the next day !!

A Hidden Garden !!

Sometimes, I feel that working life is a bit boring...Everyday, I have to drag myself up early in the morning to get myself prepared to work. Then , u go to the office and work work work...

Lunch time comes, I go to eat at One U (no choice loh - cuz the office is just next to it ma..not because Im rich only I eat there one). Then I get my car reparked. After that, go back to the office and I have to go through a torturing time again before the clock strikes 5 !!

To bring some life to myself and my colleague, Ainnul, both of us normally jalan-jalan a while before returning to the office. We just try to think of new shops to enter lah...but normally we ended up in Jusco. Hehehe!!

Once in a blue moon, I will ajak her to go to the Rainforest area to feed the carps.

Where is this place ? It is located in One U (nearby Secret Recipe, Nippon Yataimura and Kluang Station at Lower Ground ) and NO, it is not really a jungle or anything...It is more or less a man-made tiny miny jungle with green plants, some creative landscaping artwork and also a fish pond...U can get a clearer location by looking at its map at http://www.1utama.com.my/.

Actually, the rainforest area is nearby the parking lots ...so we will definitely pass by the so-called One U-made rainforest EVERY SINGLE WORKING DAY since we park our vehicles in that area!! SO Every morning (when I go to work), afternoon ( repark my car ) and evening (finish work) I will get to see these carps swimming about. I wondered if the management ever feed them ? So out of the blue, I fed them once in a while with FISH FOOD. NOT ROTI/BREAD or BISCUITS !!

Come fishy fishy...come !!

Dun you even try to say that fish food are expensive. I bought one average sized packet with the price of RM2.00 only. See how they come fighting for food ?

I call this the DBKL / Bandaran fish cuz it sucks up all the dirt in the pool for a living.

BUT , this fish, also came fighting for food...so unethical !!

U can say that I am silly for doing something like that ...BUT I pitied them when I saw some of them sucking the wall for food..

They don't know how to beg for food !!

They don't know how to make hungry facial expressions !!

They don't know how to speak to you that they are starving !!

What can they do ? Wait for people to feed them ...

or else, they starve to death ...

Anyway, I feel comfortable to be in the rainforest. The enviroment feels natural as our lives always revolves around skyscrapers and concrete buildings everyday ..

* a reminder : I never said that One U mananegement did not feed these fish with food...

Tunnel in my office ...

I was happily taking the lift to my office when my colleague told me that "Our office door is blocked !! We have to use another entrance !!" Luckily we have another entrance to get into the office but we have to take one big round ( passing by all the Japan, Korea,China and etc. financial team) just to get to our own workstation.

You see, the company want to fix the floor and also carpet so it is nicer to walk on. However, during this time, it has

However, during this period many people cannot get the access to the most important places of the company ...the PANTRY & of course the Washroom !! U have no idea how much far it is. I tried to use this way once and i got fed up with it. I did not mind taking the longer way...BUT I have to GO THROUGH other departments just to get to the pantry. I give you an example. You want to go to one place..but you have to go in from the front and out from the back of someone's house just to get there...very 'Nasi' like that...Luckily, we have access to the other washroom of the same level which is not that far away...

The facilities that were blocked include :

- Meeting rooms

- Washroom

- Equipment room (meaning fax & photostat room)

- Main Entrance

- Pantry

For the past week, these blue things were there. I could not hear a sound or see anyone doing anything about it. I guess they work only at night !!

The corridor to the loo was blocked !!

I tell you, these blue things were sealed tightly . No IBM staff can have access into it. Only God knows what was happening inside until one fine day, one of these workers created an opening at one end of these blue tunnels...I could see IBMers started exploring these tunnels to reach another place - the meeting rooms.

Of course I took some snapshots lah...cuz it did look funny to me ..Have u experienced such thing before in the first place ? No mah...I mah took some pictures to remember such odd incident loh..

FIRE at IBM & KPMG

I was suddenly jolted by the ear piercing sound of the emergency bell around 10 am. Everyone in the office started looking at each other until we heard an announcement made by an operator that everyone has to leave our workstations and head towards the emergency exit, the stairs !

A guard was standing by the door, directing the people which way they should head to. Ainnul & I quickly took our bag and left our places to join the rest of the team by the stairs. I glanced to the seniors’ area and saw some of them grinning, smiling and taking their own sweet time…Then, I knew that it may be a drill. A Fire Drill …

Everyone, walked down the stairs all the way from Level 15 …joining the people from other levels. I pity those who wore HIGH HEELS that day as some of them has to walk down the stairs all the way from LEVEL19!!

We walked, walked, talked , and walked…seems like it was taking me years to get to see daylight …

Around 15-20 minutes later, we have finally reached Concourse of IBM & KPMG Plaza. It was hectic. I could see people flooding the concourse level as well as the road outside the building. There were people EVERYWHERE..!!

As I walked further out of the building, I could see a Fire Engine and Ambulance parked at the front. A few firemen were busy preparing their equipments and hose while rushing into the building.

“IS THIS FOR REAL?” I asked Ainnul who could not answer my question too.

Some security guards were directing us to somewhere far away to mark attendance. The situation was hectic but we could see people chatting and laughing all the way. I turned to have a look at IBM Plaza to find that there was no smoke coming out from the building…It is confirmed a FIRE DRILL !!

We gathered at our own section (Level 15) as directed by other security guards. Ainnul & I were busy taking pictures of the event just to show how many people were there in that building.

Some of my colleagues were happily smiling in front of the camera….It was a bit too hot for me to smile any longer. My whole body was sweating…the sun was torturing me badly . My freckles are gonna pop out soon…sobs !!

Out of nowhere, a senior of my dept. who is in charge during an emergency appeared and took our attendance. Then, she mentioned "DISMISS…BALIK BALIK !!"

FINALLY…I can get back to the office to enjoy the cool air…BUT I forgot one thing…
I have to queue to get into the lift ..People mountain, people sea again..

Some people even have time to read while waiting for the lift

Some of them went over to One Utama for an early lunch but I prefer to stick to the same lunch hour.

I do not know why this guy is carrying a TRANSPARENT UMBRELLA happily !!

Does he even know that it won't work under the hot sun ?

Summary : The day was hot and I was sweating profusely during the drill…Luckily my heels were not high at all, so I did not have any problem walking down the stairs. Anyway, it was quite a fun experience since I get to create more bondage with colleagues.

A New Life in Mine

I have a new companion with me. This companion is alive and it cannot talk or hear. It does move BUT it moves EXTREMELY slow. I tell you, if you ever wait for it to move aaa,u slowly waitlah...

It is so slow to the extent that u go to the loo to do big business, then go down to drink a cup of coffee and eat a pau and back to the office, this thing still has not move an inch.

A colleague gave it to me and she said that this life is really easy to manage wooo..so I took it ler since I dun have a companion while I work ...

I know-lah...I will show it now loh...Thought I want to give some suspense -mah...ish !!

Im telling you the truth :-

1. It moves towards light source...BUT it is very very very slow

2. It does not talk nor hear..BUT some people do claim that they can still listen

3. It is really easy to manage CUZ i just need to feed it with water in a plastic container.

4. By the way, it helps by absorbing CO2 and release O2 ma...

How to stay awake in the OFFICE

I was busy cleaning up my company email archives until I came across a hilarious email. It was sent by me to a colleague, Ah Ai.

Both Ah Ai and I used to send email to each other to keep ourselves occupied whenever we were free. So one fine day, she emailed me and told me that she was extremely sleepy. I, out of nowhere, came out with various ideas how to keep her awake.

What I replied to her :

Sleepy ? I have thought of a few ways to make you awake...

1. Run around the office for 3 laps. You can also sing while u run or yell " I Will Survive"
2. Go wash your face with hot water...surely u'll wake up from the heat.
n your face dun need any blusher..natural blusher after the hot water. muhaha
3. Go ask Angie to give a few tight slaps...maybe that may help..
4. Run over to Canteen Lady's seat n eat up all her Hersheys...
5. Swim around with the carps in One Utama's pond
6. Go chat with your boss n tell him everything u know
(personal/ work wise..etc)
7. Go walk around the office n tell each and everyone that you like him/her. Movements
may wake u up
8. Go to the vending machine, ask the Milo guy to give you consume Nescafe powder - you'll
never get sleepy for the next few days..hahaha
9. Or, you can sleep...but draw 2 eyes on a piece of white paper n stick them to your eyelids
so that noone will know tat you are sleeping
10. Call 2000 and ask whether there is a cure for sleepiness...
11. Or go to the pond n get a tortoise to bite your finger. Surely you'll be awake for the rest
of the day ...
12. Blast your laptop loudly with songs until the whole office can hear
13. Stand up on the table n yell - I WILL NEVER FALL ASLEEP !!

Hope that these ideas are workable.

* 2000 is a phone number we IBMers call to get techincal solutions if we ever have
problems with out Laptop/ email/ ...any IT related stuff .

What do you think ? In my opinion, suggestion No. 2 & 8 might work very well.

NAKED !

I do not know why it took these people so long to get things fixed.

The water dispenser is still in the same situation , which is OUT OF ORDER !!

Yesterday, it was worse !! See- lah..it has been stripped NAKED by the technician. When I went over to the pantry, the culprit was nowhere to be seen.

The dispenser with it's protective cover off !! means NAKED!!

Maybe they want us staff to operate it manually as if we are expected to know engineering or technical stuff since we work in an IT company..apa-lah !!

Wait..wait...I think I heard some aunties in the office yelled "Let's go take some water !! " That thing shud be fixed dy..I go take a look..Cheers !

A Newbie in Town

I have a new neighbour, a newbie in my department. His name is Nicholas. A senior took the newbie on a parade around my dept introducing who these people are.

I don't lie one ok..That is his name

Then he went to 3 different levels to get 3 things done:-

1. To get his IBM Tag

He will get one just like mine. I looked retarded here !!

2. To get the keys to his workdesk

3. To get himself a laptop for work + register himself to get a personal email address + phone

extension

I have gone thru all these processes also on my first day of work. He is better than me lah as his immediate senior treated him way better. I was out of luck on my first day of work, my immediate manager was on emergency leave whereby another senior manager had to come pick this poor little kitten (me-lah) from the reception after waiting for 2 hours.

Back to the newbie story...

I got a BIG SHOCK after I glanced over to Nicholas's table. He was supplied with new STATIONERIES by the senior.It seems she has requested the dept secretary to give him the necessary supplies.

Y am I SHOCKED ? Cuz I did not get them when I first came. Like I said, my immediate manager was on leave for 2-3days.The senior manager was too busy to pamper me also.

These are what he got :

1. New stapler ( Me : I borrowed from my colleague)

2. New stapler bullets ( Me : depends if my colleague has the supply or not)

3. Highlighters ( Me : used to borrow from my colleague. Now, I brought one from

home)

4. Pen ( Me: also brought from home )

5. Notebook ( Me: I got that at the beginning of the year. Everyone in this dept got

it.)

6. The orange string thingy ( Me: Everyone in my dept also got that last quarter.)

7. Pendrive (Me: Did not get it o my first day. Got that last quarter together with

everyone)

Nobody even told me that I can request for stationeries until my beloved colleague/fren told me that. It seems that she also faced the same fate as mine.

That's all I wanna tok about for now...

*Nicholas, if u ever read this, I am neither mad nor jealous. I just wanted to express how silly I was not knowing that the company actually supplied the newbies with stationeries lah. & also hoh, Y my seniors @ manager did not ask for me la...

Post Labour Day Surprise

INTRO

This is my office pantry. Yes , I admit that I am lucky enuf to have a pantry of this size. We even get to use the fridge and 2 microwaves (1 for halal food n the other for non-halal food)!!

These paper cups are supplied by Nestle I assume. There is also a hand sanitizer for the staff. The smell of this thing makes you feel like you are in a hospital, undergoing a treatment soon. eewwwee..But i still use it for the sake of preventing myself from the ever spreading A H1N1 flu.

MAIN POINT
You want some milo ? Teh Tarik, coffee or even Lemon Tea ?You can have them when you visit IBM but they are not FREE OF CHARGE anymore.

U can see lah...my company hoh...they provided us staff with a GIANT vending machine. When I first joined, the machine charged us nothing (RM 0.00) for a cup of drink & you can drink as much as you want.

HOWEVER, all staff had a POST LABOUR DAY surprise by the company. There were extra stickers n price on each drink in the machine.We have to pay the drinks for ourselves ady. It seems that the company no longer pays for vending machine expenses.

I dunno why Milo is 10cents more than coffee or tea

Then the number of people goin for the vending machine dropped tremendously..They started buying 3 in 1s coffee or milo or tea powders to make their own drinks.Where we get our water supply? From the water dispenser in the pantry lah !!

After a week or two like that, we , people in my level...had another cruel twist of fate..THE WATER DISPENSER BROKE DOWN!! People must have been using it too much eversince the vending machine started charging us money.

Now, no more drinking water..aiyo.!! To kill our thirst, these people including me go to other levels to get our water supply.It has been like this for a week dy lah.

I do hope if the technicians managed to save the poor water dispenser or not..

* P/S - A note to the vending machine : Don't worry ! I will still use your service as long as I have coins.

Food Supply @ Office

I don't know about you, but I do have some food supply hidden in the biggest drawer of my workdesk.

That's the drawer.. my so-called Food Source!!

Dun be surprised lah..I did not stock it 100% full ...

You can see that i have BOH Green Tea which sucks.PLEASE don't drink that one. I can't taste any green in the tea..kekeke..It is TRUE! Im not lying.Then the small small yellow n green packets are also green tea. They are Korean Brown Rice Green Tea which I grabbed from a Korean Food Fair in One U not long ago. They tasted way better than the BOH which I officially BAN for life !!

The transparent container on the upper left is my Jacob's Instant Oat supply. I had them for lunch sometimes when I do not feel like eating in One U.

I have chocolate wafer as well as Apollo Choco Biscuit. These 2 things were the most commonly seen snacks sold in the canteen of the primary school which I attended. I do not know why I have not tried these 2 wafers before when I was young. Up till now only i triedthem. I sounded so outdated..hehehe !

I even have PILLOW BISCUITS (Biskut Bantal) brought all the way from my hometown ! Y from hometown ? I asked my mum to bring them to me. I brought them to the office since my sis does not like them. Oh yeah, Cloud 9 !! I juz bought them..their sizes have shrunk to half their ori size. So disappointing..

Lastly, the kacang supply n dried passion fruit on my table..I do not really like sweets except the special or unique ones..so u won't get to see me eating sweets very often.

That's all I have to show off.These are my not so healthy food supply in the office. Their main purposeare not to help me solve my hunger ...but to help me stay awake when I miss my bed truly, madly, deeply!
